FAQ

Is the Japanese size (cm) the same as foot length?
Japanese shoe sizes are based on foot length (cm) under the JIS standard, so they are nearly the same. However, real shoes add toe allowance, so most people choose a size about 0.5-1.0cm larger than their actual foot length.
What is the difference between US, UK, and EU sizes?
US and UK sizes are inch-based (one barleycorn = 1/3 inch); for the same foot length, the US number is about 0.5 larger than the UK number. EU sizes use the Paris point (1 point = 2/3cm) and represent the shoe length including allowance. This tool converts based on these systems.
Why do men and women get different results?
EU sizes are foot-length based and shared between genders, but US and UK sizes use different starting points for men and women. For the same foot length, a women's US size is about 1.5 larger than a men's, so choosing the right category matters.
Will the displayed size always fit?
It is only a general conversion guide. Even with the same labeled size, actual dimensions vary widely by brand, model, and last (mold). When possible, check foot width as well as length, and review the maker's size guide and customer reviews.
Is my data safe?
Yes. All conversion calculations run entirely within your browser. The sizes and foot-length values you enter are never sent to or stored on any server, so you can use the tool with peace of mind.
