About Speed, Distance & Time

Based on the basic formula "speed = distance ÷ time" (v=d/t), this tool calculates the third value from any two of speed, distance, and time. It converts between km/h, m/s and mph, km and mile, and hours, minutes and seconds, and also shows running pace (min/km). All calculations run in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.

Features

  • Real-time CalculationRecalculates as you type. Switch tabs to change which value is solved for.
  • Many Units SupportedFreely combine km/h, m/s, mph, km, m, mile, hours, minutes, and seconds.
  • Pace DisplayAutomatically shows min/km and min/mile pace, perfect for running and walking.
  • Privacy ProtectedEverything runs in your browser. Your numbers are never sent to any server.

Use Cases

  • Plan running/marathon target times and pace
  • Estimate driving time and arrival
  • Check cycling or bike commute speed
  • Solve school physics speed problems
  • Convert between km/h, m/s, and mph

FAQ

What formula is used to calculate speed, distance, and time?
The basic formula "speed = distance ÷ time" (v=d/t). Distance = speed × time and time = distance ÷ speed are derived from the same equation.
How do I convert km/h to m/s?
Divide the km/h value by 3.6 to get m/s (e.g. 36 km/h ÷ 3.6 = 10 m/s). With this tool you just pick the unit and it converts automatically.
What is pace (min/km)?
It is the time it takes to cover 1 km, a common metric in running. For example, a pace of 5 min/km means covering 1 km in 5 minutes (12 km/h).
Can I enter time in minutes or seconds?
Yes. You can choose hours, minutes, or seconds as the time unit. The result is also shown in h:m:s format so you can use whichever suits you.
Does it work on smartphones?
Yes. It works on smartphones, tablets, and PCs. No registration or installation is required.
Are my numbers stored or sent anywhere?
No. All calculations happen in your browser, and your input is never sent to any server.
