Choose the text language, difficulty, and length, then press "Start Test" to show the prompt.

The timer starts the moment you type the first character. The current position is highlighted and mistakes are colored.

When you finish, your WPM, CPM, accuracy, and time appear, and your personal best is saved automatically.

FAQ

What is the difference between WPM and CPM?
WPM (Words Per Minute) counts words per minute and is common in English, typically treating 5 characters as one word. CPM (Characters Per Minute) counts correctly typed characters per minute and works well for measuring Japanese typing speed.
How is accuracy calculated?
Accuracy is the percentage of correctly typed characters out of the total characters you entered. Mistakes are counted even if you later fix them with backspace.
Can I measure Japanese typing?
Yes. Select "Japanese" as the text language to get Japanese prompts. It evaluates the confirmed text after IME conversion, and works with both romaji and kana input.
Where are my records stored?
Personal bests are stored in your browser local storage and are never sent to a server. Clearing your browser data will reset your records.
Does it work on smartphones?
Yes, it works on smartphones, tablets, and PCs. On mobile you can measure your speed using the on-screen software keyboard.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is completely free with no registration or installation required. Just open it in your browser and start.
