How to Use

Choose a mode

Use the tabs to switch between "Compress" (combine files into one ZIP) and "Extract" (take files out of a ZIP).

For compressing, add the files you want to bundle. For extracting, add the target ZIP. Drag & drop or click to select.

For compressing, press "Compress to ZIP" to save the archive. For extracting, download files individually or use "Extract & download all".

About the ZIP Compress & Extract Tool

An online tool to bundle multiple files into a single ZIP, or to inspect a ZIP you received and pull out just the files you need. The biggest advantage is that your files are never sent to a server. FAQ

Are my compressed or extracted files uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser (on your device). Your files are never sent to or stored on any server, so even confidential files are safe.
Is there a limit on the number or size of files?
There is no service-side limit. However, since everything runs in your device memory, very large or numerous files may take longer to process or may hit your browser's memory limit depending on your device.
Can it create or open password-protected (encrypted) ZIPs?
This tool does not support creating or opening password-protected ZIPs. If you load an encrypted ZIP, its contents may not be extractable.
Will Japanese (non-ASCII) file names be garbled?
This tool supports UTF-8 encoded file names. File names created by older software using Shift_JIS may appear garbled in some environments.
Can I use it on my smartphone?
Yes. It works on any device with a modern browser, including smartphones, tablets, and PCs. No unzip software needs to be installed.
