FAQ

Are these figures net or gross?
They are gross figures, before income tax and social insurance are deducted. To estimate your take-home pay, use the Take-Home Pay Calculator.
How is annual salary calculated from an hourly rate?
Annual = hourly rate × hours per day × days per month × months per year. For example, $20/hr at 8 hours/day, 20 days/month and 12 months/year gives roughly $38,400 per year.
Can I change the hours and days?
Yes. Hours per day, days per week/month and months per year are all adjustable. Matching them to your real schedule gives a more accurate conversion.
Are bonuses included?
Bonuses are not included. To approximate a salary with bonuses, set the months-per-year field higher (e.g. 14 or 16) to account for the extra payments.
Is my input saved or sent anywhere?
No. All calculations run locally in your browser, and your figures are never sent to or stored on any server.
Can I start the conversion from a daily or weekly rate?
Yes. Enter an amount in any field — hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or annual — and the other units are calculated from your hours and days settings. Reverse conversions such as daily-to-annual or weekly-to-monthly work just as freely.
What about overtime, take-home pay and bonuses?
This tool focuses on converting gross base pay (excluding bonuses and overtime). For overtime use the Overtime Pay Calculator, for net pay use the Take-Home Pay Calculator, and for bonuses use the Bonus Calculator. You can reach them from the "Related Tools & Guides" section below.
