About SVG Optimization

SVG is a text-based vector image format. When exported from design tools, SVG files often contain data that is not needed for display — comments, metadata, editor-specific attributes, and overly precise decimals. This SVG optimizer safely removes that data and reduces file size while keeping the appearance intact. All processing happens in your browser, so your files are never sent to any server.

Features

  • Safe MinificationNo aggressive transforms that could break visuals — just removing junk and rounding decimals.
  • Reduction InsightsSee before/after file size and the reduction rate so the benefit is clear at a glance.
  • Before/After PreviewRender the original and optimized images side by side to confirm the look is unchanged.
  • Privacy FirstEverything runs locally in your browser. SVG files are never uploaded to any server.

Use Cases

  • Shrink icon and logo SVGs for websites
  • Clean up SVGs exported from Illustrator or Figma
  • Minify before embedding inline SVG in HTML
  • Prepare assets for icon fonts or sprites
  • Minimize SVGs shared over email or chat

FAQ

Is the SVG optimizer free to use?
Yes, it is completely free. No registration or installation is required — just open it in your browser and start using it.
Will optimization change how my SVG looks?
This tool only performs safe operations: removing comments, metadata, editor data and extra whitespace, and rounding decimals. It does not apply aggressive shape transforms, so the appearance normally stays the same. Use the before/after preview to confirm.
Are my SVG files uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your SVG code and files are never sent to or stored on any server.
Which decimal precision should I choose?
For typical icons and logos, 2 decimal places usually balance size and quality well. Increase it for detailed paths, or lower it for maximum savings and verify with the preview.
Can I optimize any SVG?
It supports standard text-based SVG. For files with animation (SMIL), scripts or external references, double-check the result with the preview. Binary-compressed .svgz files are not supported.
How do I save the optimized file?
Use the "Copy" button to copy it to your clipboard, or the "Download" button to save it as a .svg file.
