About This Tool

Convert images between PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, SVG and HEIC (iPhone photo) formats. Choose the output format (JPEG/PNG/WebP) and quality, compare file sizes before and after, and convert several images at once in a single batch. SVG files can be cleanly rasterized to PNG, JPG, or WebP at a specified output width. All processing happens in your browser - no images are uploaded to any server. Your privacy is protected.

FAQ

What's the difference between PNG, JPG, and WebP?
PNG uses lossless compression with transparency support. JPG uses lossy compression, ideal for photos. WebP offers both features with smaller file sizes.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No, all processing happens in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
Will conversion reduce image quality?
JPG and WebP use lossy compression, so some quality loss occurs. Higher quality settings minimize this. PNG is lossless, so no quality is lost.
How are SVG files converted?
Because SVG is a vector format, it is rasterized to a bitmap image (PNG, JPG, or WebP) at the output width you specify. The height is calculated automatically from the original aspect ratio, so a larger output width produces a higher-resolution image. Note that SVG cannot be chosen as the output format, since the result is always a bitmap after rasterization.
Which output format (PNG/JPG/WebP) should I choose?
For photos and images with many colors, WebP or JPG is recommended and greatly reduces file size. If you need transparency, choose PNG or WebP. For the lightest possible web images, WebP offers the best balance of quality and size. With JPG and WebP you can use the quality slider to balance size and clarity, and the before/after size comparison helps you find the best setting.
Can I convert multiple images at once?
Yes. Add several files via drag & drop or file selection, and they are all converted in one batch using your chosen format and quality. The results panel shows how many files were converted plus the total size before and after, and "Download all as ZIP" saves them as a single file.
Can I convert iPhone photos (HEIC)?
Yes. HEIC/HEIF files are read and converted to PNG, JPG or WebP. If you only want to turn iPhone photos into JPG, the HEIC to JPG Converter, with quality and downsizing options, is handy too. The tool only downloads the program it needs to read HEIC; your images are not sent.
Can I resize while converting?
This tool changes only the format (the pixel dimensions stay the same). To shrink or enlarge as well, use the Image Resizer and pick the output format (JPG, PNG or WebP). It resizes and converts many images in one go.
