FAQ

Can I create a JAN code with this tool?
Yes. JAN codes are identical to the international EAN-13 (13 digits) and EAN-8 (8 digits) standards. Choose "EAN-13 (JAN)" or "EAN-8" as the format and enter the digits. Entering 12 digits auto-calculates the check digit.
Can I use the generated barcode commercially?
Yes, the generated images can be used for any purpose. Note that to officially use a JAN/EAN code on a product for sale, you must separately register with your local GS1 organization to obtain a company prefix.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. Generating, rendering and downloading the barcode all happen entirely in your browser. Your input and images are never sent to or stored on any server.
Should I choose PNG or SVG?
PNG is convenient for the web and everyday printing. For large prints such as flyers and posters, or if you plan to scale or edit later, SVG (vector format) is recommended because it never loses quality.
Why do I see "input is not valid"?
The characters or length do not match the selected format. For example, EAN-13 requires 12-13 digits, and CODE128C accepts only an even number of digits. Check the hint shown below the input field.
